OUTSIDE –INSIDE from the Two of a kind-series
70x100 cm, both pictures, 2003, acryl on canvas.
A sitting young girl has been depicted in the painting. She is very young and muscular. From these pictures it is clear that a great number of the models for the drawings being the base for the paintings, are students from a Dancing Academy.
The girl is taking rest and although she is sitting relaxed, all parts of her body being connected with the black and grey background are touching an edge. That’s even the case with the head. What is not clear, is, what she is looking at.
